Greeting from the Organizer
The Japan World Stamp Exhibition has been held every 10 years since 1971, the 100th anniversary of the founding of postal service in Japan.
The sixth Exhibition will be held in 2021 at Pacifico Yokohama, one of Japan’s largest convention centers, located in the Yokohama Minato 21 area of coastal Yokohama, the city where international postal service was inaugurated in Japan.
The PHILANIPPON 2021, with the theme “Celebrating 150 years of service today. Delivering new value tomorrow.” will be dedicated to popularizing postal service and stamp collecting in Japan while pursuing cultural exchange and international friendship through the hobby of stamp collecting via exhibits of noteworthy international stamp collections and various events. Reflecting the fact that 2021 marks the 150th anniversary of postal service in Japan, it also will seek to broadly communicate to attendees the history and culture that have been created by postal service, as well as the future potential of the industry going forward.
Today, new initiatives and ‘Yubin’ postal services are beginning to supplement the postal mechanisms and services that were built by our predecessors.
It is our hope that many visitors will attend the Exhibition to enjoy some of the world’s outstanding creations while experiencing a new approach to postal services that will move beyond history and into tomorrow.
